Norton Internet Security 2007 Registration Bug
Posted on: May 8th, 2007If you have brought a Norton Internet Security for your network of PC and after installing it for 3 PCs, suddenly you cannot register the product because Norton only allows you to register to 3 PC’s only. I did a little experiment on how to hack that. You don’t need to be a geek to be able to perform this task nor you have to wear a lab coat to look like a doctor. Forget about the last line. I’ll just give you few hints how to install Norton Internet Security to more than 3 PC’s.
Basically what I observe is there is no perfect system to detect if a user have installed only 3 PC’s because I believe every software has its own bug. Even Microsoft Windows can be hacked and we can install it on some other PC’s. But first lets talk about Norton Internet Security hacks.
Here’s what I’ve done to make it possible. First install it to 3 PC’s. Then register it. On the next day, you need to change your IP address and install it again to other PC and register it. Viola it works again. This is how I discover on how to install Norton Internet Security to more than 3 PC’s. Well I didn’t write this blog post to promote piracy but more on how to improve a software’s registration security. Hope you like it. More on these software hacks and bugs will posted on this blog soon. Stay tune for more. Cheers
Best printer for home use
Posted on: May 3rd, 2007Over the last few years I have bad luck with printers. They’re always broken after 2-3 months of use. I remember when we have a Canon Pixma. Canon Pixma is fine but one time it stops from printing. I immediately call the technician to fix it because I really need the printer because of important documents that I need to print immediately. After few minutes the technician advice me to buy a new canon ink cartridge because the ink of the printer spilled. The technician told me to try using the brother ink cartridge because because its the best inkjet that suits my needs. He also suggested to use Laser Toner Cartridge or HP cartridge.
On the way to computer supply shop, I’ve noticed an individual who is buying ink cartridge. I’ve got confused because I’m curious why is this guy buying ink cartridge? Could be because he will resell it or there is something on the ink cartridge that can be recycled. I’ll let everyone know if why are these individual buying the ink cartridge.

Technology made outsourcing companies success
Posted on: April 26th, 2007Have you ever think that outsourcing companies would make this big without the latest technology like Instant Messengers Program, video conferencing technology, high-speed internet, satellite dish and etc. Technology plays a major role in improving the life’s of the people in the third world country. Imagine almost 90% of the call centers around the world are being outsource by the countries who belong to first world country.
I didn’t imagine that the invention of Internet would make this big at this early. It was 1993 when I first heard of internet. And 1997 when I first started to explore and browse Google, Alta Vista, Lycos, and Yahoo. I can still remember when I first sign up my first email address at Lycos.com Then after 10 years, almost all of the establishments around the world are using it for their business transaction.
Outsourcing company is one the major investors in the third world country like India and Philippines. Without these maybe I’m working abroad now because of the salary here aren’t that much to make a good living.
iPhone against Nokia
Posted on: April 26th, 2007No doubt that iPhone is one of the best phones right now simply because it contains features that can only bee seen on iPhone. Will you exchange your latest Nokia Handyphones with iphones? While iPhones haven’t been release to Asia and Europe I can’t really tell if its good or not. But base on the memory of this Phone and its built by a very huge company (apple) I can say that Goodbye Nokia and welcome iPhone. In the next few months/years they will surely release incredible accessory for iPhone.
In terms of built in camera features,If I will compare my Nokia n73 Music Series with Apple iPhone, I must say my Nokia is much better because it has 3.2 mexapixels built in camera. But what makes iPhone unique is they have a photo-management tool that you will surely enjoy especially if you’re into photoblogging.
Overall review on iPhone is 6.5 out of 10 by cnet.com It’s still up to you wheter you want to buy it or not. But for sure I will buy this new technology by Apple.
Online certification or a College degree?
Posted on: March 29th, 2007While looking for an opportunity online I have encountered a problem
that a teenager who really love computer/programming is facing. Whether go to college or enroll in a technology courses or seminar then get a certification from IT companies like Sun and Microsoft.
There are lot of opportunities online but is this the solution/alternative if you’re lacking of money to go to college? My point of view on this is I know money is somewhat a problem in most of the teenagers right now why can’t go to college. But let me tell you this if there is a will there is a way. There are lot of disadvantages if you don’t finish your college. So if you’re thinking of having an online certification with companies like Sun try to finish your studies first and then pursue your dreams of becoming a certified programmer.
Last week my friend told me he will go to college and he want to pursue his Information Technology course. I told him to Contact Collins College because thats the best college for his chosen path. He has just migrate here in America and this is his 2nd time going to college. I just hope he can cope up with his environment asap. Because it’s different here in America.
The Benefits of Zipping and Sending Zip Archives Online
Posted on: September 23rd, 2006File compression is something that many of us use everyday. Maybe you have a bunch of photos to send to a distant family member and you want to archive them all into one file. In business, co-workers can be found zipping up files and sending them to each other all the time.Zipping up files has many benefits. It saves valuable disk space, reduces the overall file size of the archived files, and helps keep the speed of your processor. If you aren’t great with fumbling with different zip programs but you need to zip up and send multiple files, then an online zipping service is perfect for you.
An online zip service will allow you to easily add files to an online zip archive and then send them to anyone you wish, via e-mail.This kind of service is also perfect for people surfing the web on a public computer, like at a library or school. Many of these kinds of computers don’t have any kind of zipping program, so this is where that kind of service really shines. If you have a domain name and want to offer this kind of service to your visitors, you can be sure that a tool like this will bring back many return visitors to your website.
You’ll also be able to profit from it if you want to as well, every zip file sent has a header and footer with links that the owner specifies. These viral links can be offered up for sale to potential advertisers for an additional income stream. It’s very easy to install, and configuration is a breeze.Using this online zipping tool is great because it will ultimately save the user disk space as well. You don’t have to worry about your privacy with this tool, either. An auto delete function deletes your zip files after a specified period of minutes. See if it works for you, check it out.

Computer Maintenance Essentials
Posted on: March 6th, 2006Last month my trusty private e-mail address that I had used for many years stopped working with no explanation. Without warning the provider had gone out of business leaving thousands of disgruntled customers. Fortunately I already had several alternate addresses ready so I called up my key clients and sent an email update to my address book. I was fully functional and working in a day or two. A couple of months ago I came back from lunch to find an ominous message about Root file system not found on my screen … the main hard drive on my trusty laptop had died rather suddenly taking all my applications and data files with it. I had a deadline for a client deliverable that evening. Again, not to worry, I plugged in my external backup hard drive into another computer on the network and worked from there. While I took my laptop off to a local computer retailer to get repaired, I was able to continue to work. I lost a couple of files and a day of work at most.
For me my computers are my company; without them I am essentially out of business. Who has the budget for a full business contingency plan? Let us look at inexpensive and simple ways to insure that your company will continue to function if an IT disaster strikes.
The Problem
In the big corporations they frequently have entire departments devoted to studying business continuity. They will write disaster recovery plans and regularly test the contingency systems. For the small business it is a bit tougher. We have become so dependent on our computers for our businesses that we can no longer afford to rely on manual backup processes and systems to carry us through an IT emergency.
The Solution
The first and most important item on your IT emergency list is to think about the possibility that you will have computer systems and network problems and your need to plan for them. Just by reading this article you are taking your first steps in disaster recovery planning.
Fortunately, there are some fairly simple and easy things that if done on a regular basis, can save your company when (not if, mind you) such an event occurs. Implementing each of these simple items will not prevent disasters from happening, but it will allow you to get back to business that much sooner when they do.
- Seven Computer Maintenance Essentials:
- Establish a relationship with a reputable vendor. This is probably your most important decision. The vendor should be easily accessible and have the ability to respond quickly to solve your problems. I use a small computer store a few blocks from me. They are not the cheapest place around, but they repaired my hard drive and restored the backed up files overnight without a fuss. My other alternative, the computer manufacturer promised me two-week turnaround if I shipped them the computer. No thank you.
- Regular and automated backups. Disks have become so cheap that there is not excuse why you should not have some kind of easily recoverable backup. This item includes mirror or archive backup copies of your essential files. I can not emphasis this enough. Several of my clients have ignored this at their peril. Do not forget to test your file recovery occasionally. You don’t want to find out about your failing backups when you are trying to restore a mission critical system.
- Automated firewall and virus protection. Given the enormous amount of viruses and malicious activity on the net, an updated firewall and virus protection is essential. One client lost days of productivity because they thought that servers were immune from virus attack and had no protection installed.
- Alternative Internet connectivity. Depending on the nature of your business and your budget, your alternative could be a simple backup dialup connection or a complete alternative service provider. I use a low cost dialup company that allows me to purchase prepaid access as I need it, but a local small college recently signed with a wireless backup provider when their main ISP went bankrupt and they were forced to scramble for continued connectivity.
- Alternative email addresses and backup websites. For most businesses not having e-mail access can spell disaster. I have several addresses through a few providers. I also set my pop account to keep old mail for a week on the server. That means that if necessary I can access my mail from the local public library. I also keep copies of my website in a number of places so that if my main site is down, I can still send my clients to one of the alternatives.
- Good records of your installed applications. It is easy to forget how many applications you have installed on your system. When I restored my accounting package, I had to reinstall the software certificate and serial number. It took me a while to realize that I had written it conveniently on the software CD itself. Now all my application software registration information is in a file that I print out and keep in a safe and memorable place.
- Outsource external facing services to a supported data center company. With a variety of vendors and services to choose from, all for a reasonable price, why should you be tying up your company bandwidth and potentially opening yourself to malicious attack by hosting your own website or FTP server? This is one case that outsourcing is the truly best option.
Conclusion
So next time, your critical computer system or your Internet connectivity goes down, just call your trusted computer repair vendor (phone number conveniently placed near your computer) or your alternative provider, switch to your pre-planned backup and continue to work. No heart attack and no panic. Think of the peace of mind and happy customers that all your contingency planning bought you.
